Grassroots awards 2024

Cambourne Town FC

Nominate Cambourne Town FC and our Volunteers now......

By nominating a volunteer for a Grassroots Football Award, you’re passing on your thanks. For every big and small moment they bring. For their time, energy and ideas. For your appreciation of everything they do in making the grassroots game happen.

Your thanks will mean a lot, to a lot of people.

As well as a big thank you, the national Award winners will enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience at their own presentation ceremony at Wembley ahead of the Community Shield. As well as tickets to the match, filming and photography plus more prizes.

You can nominate as many times as you like, in as many categories as you like. And every time you nominate a volunteer, you can be sure they’ll hear all about it.

HOW TO NOMINATE

This year, it’s easier than ever. You can now tell their story in a way you want simply by letting the FA know:

• What they do, and how it impresses you
• How they make a difference to others’ lives
• Where they’ve had an impact in their community

The more detail you give, the better.

Nominations are open to the 3 April 2024. There are twelve different categories for you to nominate into.

Why cambourne town fc for Club of the year?

Here are some example answers for the question fields that needs to be completed as part of your submission:

  • CTFC has 38 FA Affiliated Teams from U7 to Adult for boys and girls.
  • CTFC has a dedicated Disability football group that train every Wednesday. Pan-Disability Football is under way too. Committee Members have undertaken dedicated FA Training based on the ‘Football Your Way’ initiative.
  • CTFC has Soccer School for boys and girls aged 4-7 as a feeder group for The Cambs FA Mini League.
  • CTFC has Veterans football for those aged 35+.
  • CTFC has Walking Football for those that require a lesser pace.
  • CTFC has The Football Centre for new comers that are unable to secure a team space within one of the affiliated teams.
  • CTFC run Football Camps throughout the school holidays/ half term to keep children active, learning and entertained during breaks from school.
  • CTFC has dedicated goalkeeper training camps twice a week for boys and girls across the age groups.
  • CTFC have a girls only training camp.

  • CTFC is proactive in stamping out bullying both in and outside of official Football sessions. Crime around the site has been greatly reduced; anti-social behaviour has been reduced through ensuring that facilities are available and policed to ensure that sport is an alternative for all. On site graffiti has stopped. Facilities are no longer being vandalised and younger patrons feel safer in attending after hours.
  • CTFC continues to champion under represented groups through their growing to 10 girls teams through following the Women's Football Pathways and implementing Disability groups - continually learning and adapting to be 100% inclusive.
  • CTFC openly welcome volunteers to become part of the 'Footballing Family' providing much needed social interaction to those who could otherwise feel isolated due to personal circumstance.
  • The Dugout is open to provide a much-needed meeting place for the Walking Football  participants. Studies have repeatedly shown that elderly people with high levels of social interaction reap the benefits physically too – with slower progression of health decline, lower blood pressure and lower stress levels.

  • CTFC is staffed by over 100 volunteers.
  • CTFC continues to grow, adding under U6, 2xU7s mixed, U7’s Girls, U8’s Girls, U13’s boys, U14 Boys and 2x Sunday Men's Teams and dedicated Men’s Veterans session and in-house Pan Ability unisex U12 to U16 for 2024 and continue to actively champion Women/ under represented groups.
  • CTFC continues to embrace innovation to ensure that the best facilities are available to players and the community; such as VEO video technology, S47 Health & Wellbeing App and Digital communication to ensure all are connected to the Club.
  • CTFC are a Charity actively supporting other Charities; such as 'The Sick Children's' Trust', Her Game Too, etc and initiatives such as 'Kit Exchange' and 'Let Them Play'.

  • CTFC are affiliated with #HerGameToo to drive sexism from Football both on and off the pitch.
  • CTFC host Park Run, Mothers' Groups and various events to bring the community together.
  • CTFC actively recruit younger volunteers to assist with Match Official (Referee) duties and Coaching activities to provide a Pathway in to these areas, providing the support needed for progression.
